A Trip West

On a recent trip, I stayed with a couple that had grown up as next-door kids in rural Michigan.

While watching 8mm films they had just digitized, we heard stories of ponds, silos, tractors, and growing up on the family dairy farm in the early 60′s. I loved the feel of these films and left with a copy on my flash drive, not sure what I was going to do with the footage.

About the same time, I was recording a new song of mine. To be more specific, I had recorded it once, and I had yet to record it for the second and third times — but after I got a version I liked, it just seemed to match this film.
